GUIDELINES FOR SUPPORT OF NIGMS PROGRAM PROJECT AND CENTER GRANTS

The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) last announced
guidelines for the support of program projects in the NIH Guide in March 1996. 
At that time an upper limit of 5 years and $4,000,000 (exclusive of
subcontractual indirect costs) was established on what could be requested in a
competing program project grant.  Beginning with applications received for the
February 1, 1999 receipt date, program project and center grant applications
funded by the NIGMS have an upper limit of 5 years and $4,500,000.
