The National Center for Nursing Research (NCNR) announces plans for the

orderly phase out and termination of its small grants program for

bioethics and clinical decision making research. All non-competing

commitments for future year support made to current grantees will

continue to be honored, as will applications selected for award that

have completed the review process in FY 1992. No new applications will

be accepted for review for FY 1993.

The NCNR continues to encourage potential investigators to use

alternative grant mechanisms, such as the R01 and R29, for addressing

bioethical and clinical practice studies. Training in bioethics for

nurses also continues to be encouraged.
