Purpose

This Notice provides clarification and update for select sections of PAR-14-275 State Occupational Health and Safety Surveillance Program (U60) as follows:

Section II. Application Types Allowed

This section is updated to conform with the NIH glossary (2015) as follows:
New
Renewal
Resubmission e.g., A1
Competing Revision e.g., expand the scope of work
These new terms also apply to Section V. Application Review Information, 1. Criteria.

Section IV. Number 2 Content and Form of Application Submission

For a non-clinical trial application using a de-identified existing data set(s) solely such as a Fundamental or Fundamental-Plus Program proposal, the Planned Enrollment Table is not required. For an Expanded Program Application proposal, the Planned Enrollment Table is not required for the OH Indicators/OHI component.

Section V., Application Review Information - Overall, Protection for Human Subjects

An applicant should address the five research protection criteria as well as the three other listed evaluative criteria for an Expanded Program proposal's Overall component and for each sub component/project.
