Issued by
National Institutes of Health (NIH), (http://www.nih.gov)

With two specific exceptions, noted below, effective immediately all NIH Institutes and Centers will accept two revisions of a previously reviewed R03 small grant application. This includes applications submitted in response to the general omnibus NIH Program Announcement PA-03-108 (http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PA-03-108.html), as well as those submitted in response to Program Announcements issued by one or more Institutes/Centers. You will find specific information about the R03 programs at the following site: http://grants.nih.gov/grants/funding/r03.htm.

This Notice does not affect any other aspects of the original program announcements. Please consult specific program announcements for further instructions and information about page limits, eligibility criteria and other important features. Investigators are reminded that all small grant applications must identify a Program Announcement on line 2 of the face page of the application form PHS 398 (see NOT-OD-05-001: http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-05-010.html).

Applicants who originally submitted an application in response to an RFA and who wish to submit the application again for consideration should submit a new application. Such applications are to be submitted on the dates for new applications, should not include an Introduction responding to the previous review, and changes do not need to be marked in the text.

The second exception relates to the specialized B/Start (http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PA-02-174.html) programs of the National Institute of Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse and the specialized B/Start (http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-03-146.html) and I/Start (http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-02-058.html) programs of the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
