ANCILLARY STUDIES IN NIMH MULTI-SITE CLINICAL TRIALS: CAREER DEVELOPMENT AWARDS Release Date: May 17, 2000 NOTICE: MH-00-009 National Institute of Mental Health The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) recently issued four contracts to support multi-site clinical trials in schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s disease, bipolar disorder, treatment resistant depression, and adolescent depression. Information about these trials is available on the NIMH website at http://www.nimh.nih.gov/studies/index.cfm. NIMH also recently issued PAR-00- 095, located at http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-00-095.html, inviting applications for ancillary studies that extend the utility of the national resource created in these trials. The purpose of ancillary studies is to promote innovative lines of scientific inquiry regarding the understanding and treatment of mental disorders. NIMH is also committed to a broad spectrum of Career Development Programs, all of which are discussed on our Website located at http://www.nimh.nih.gov/grants/career.htm. This page includes descriptions and links to each one of the specific announcements for these programs. This Notice is to encourage persons who may be interested in these Career Development Programs to consider ancillary studies as part of their application submitted under one of the Career Development announcements.
