Information about the Conference Call
On Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., Eastern Time, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) will host a Technical Assistance (TA) conference call to provide an overview of AHRQ’s new medical liability reform and patient safety funding opportunity announcements (FOAs). These announcements can be found at:

During the call, AHRQ staff will highlight information found in the FOAs and respond to representative questions submitted in advance. Please submit up to five questions with your name and the name of your institution to the appropriate Agency contact in the FOA. Questions of a similar topic and nature may be grouped at the sole discretion of AHRQ staff. Persons considering submitting grant applications in response to these FOAs are welcome to attend this TA call. Those who cannot attend are encouraged to view the transcript of the TA call (see Transcript below).

Applicants are also encouraged to prepare for the new requirements to submit Adobe-based grant application forms (see Electronic Application Package below).

Registration instructions for the conference call
Registration is required to participate in the TA conference call, please send an e-mail request to David.Hsia@ahrq.hhs.gov by November 6, 2009. All registrants will be sent an e-mail reply, which will contain information on the call, including call-in information, by COB November 10, 2009.

Transcript
By December 2, 2009, a transcript of the TA call, including AHRQ’s answers to questions posed on the call, will be available through http://www.ahrq.gov/fund/grantix.htm.

    • REGISTER IN BOTH GRANTS.GOV and eRA COMMONS (Registration can take four weeks or more to complete).
