Purpose

On August 6, 2013, the NHLBI issued Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) PA-13-316 "NHLBI Program Project Applications (P01)." This Notice provides details for applicants regarding budget instructions for each of the components of the P01 and for overall eligibility.

The following sections of the FOA are revised accordingly:

Section III.1 Eligibility Information

Eligible Individuals (Program Director/Principal Investigator)

Added Language

The PD/PI must be a research scientist of recognized stature in his/her scientific discipline with the demonstrated ability to ensure quality control, administrative oversight, and integration of all components of a Program. The PD/PI, Project Leaders, and Core Leaders must be fully established at their institution at the time of submission of the grant.

Overall Component

Budget (Overall Program)

Current Language

The only budget information included in the Overall component is the Estimated Project Funding section of the SF424 (R&R) Cover.

Revised Language

The only budget information included in the Overall component is the Estimated Project Funding section of the SF424 (R&R) Cover. The contact PD/PI will be expected to devote 3.0 calendar months (25% effort) in total to the overall Program. The PD/PI must also be the Project Leader of one of the component projects.
