REANNOUNCEMENT OF THE PHARMACOGENETIC RESEARCH NETWORK AND DATABASE Release date: March 6, 2000 NOTICE: GM-00-003 National Institute of General Medical Sciences The purpose of this notice is to alert the research community to the participating NIH institutes intention to re-release the Pharmacogenetic Research Network and Database Request for Applications (RFA) for competition in FY2001. A detailed RFA will be posted in the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts within the next few weeks. Potential applicants should refer to the current RFA GM-99-004 published on December 22, 1998, found at http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-GM-99-004.html. In this reannouncement, NIH again does not plan to specify which proteins or genes should be studied in an application for the Pharmacogenetic Research Network and Database. A Research Group will specify where it wants to concentrate its activities. Variations in the effects of drugs on cells and tissues as mediated by target receptors (or pharmacodynamics) are of particular interest. A Database Group will specify how it offers a component or tool that complements the existing Pharmacogenetic Knowledge Base. For additional assistance please contact: Rochelle M.
