The Office of Cancer Genomics, Office of the Director, National Cancer Institute, will hold a pre-application meeting for investigators planning to submit applications in response to Request for Applications (RFA) CA-07-014 " Cancer Genome Characterization Centers " (U24) (https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-CA-07-014.html) released as part of The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) Pilot Project (http://cancergenome.nih.gov/). This pre-application meeting will be held on Friday, March 31, 2006, from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, at the William H. Natcher Conference Center , Balcony A, National Institutes of Health, 45 Center Drive , Bethesda , MD.

Prospective applicants are invited to attend this public meeting as an opportunity to ask questions and receive additional information pertinent to Cancer Genome Characterization Centers . Representatives from the following NCI offices will be available to discuss the intent and requirements of the RFA CA-07-014: Office of Cancer Genomics, Office of Technology and Industrial Relations, Technology Transfer Branch, Division of Extramural Activities, Office of Biorepositories and Biospecimens Research, and the Center for Bioinformatics (the last of which is responsible for the Cancer Bioinformatics Grid or caBIG). While strongly encouraged, potential applicants to RFA CA-07-014 are not required to attend the pre-application meeting.
