The Division of AIDS (DAIDS) of the National Institute of Allergy and 
Infectious Diseases (NIAID) announces the closure of Program 
Announcement, PA-01-113, THERAPEUTICS RESEARCH ON AIDS-ASSOCIATED 
OPPORTUNISTIC INFECTIONS AND MALIGNANCIES that appeared in the NIH Guide on 
June 28, 2001 at https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PA-01-113.html.
 
The final receipt date for applications was September 1, 2003.

The purpose of this Program Announcement (PA) was to encourage research grant 
applications aimed at novel approaches to discovery and preclinical 
development of therapeutic agents against opportunistic infections (OIs) and 
malignancies in people with AIDS.  The PA sought applications that involved 
creative and original preclinical research utilizing state-of-the-art 
technologies necessary to propel advances in new or improved therapies.

Additional applications in this research area continue to be encouraged under 
PA-03-108, NIH SMALL RESEARCH GRANT PROGRAM (R03),
