The National Institute on Aging (NIA) is making three corrections to PA-09-265 -Secondary Analyses of Existing Data Sets and Stored Biospecimens to Address Clinical Aging Research Questions (R01), published on September 29, 2009.

The corrections have been made below and these sections should now read as follows:

  • Budget and Project Period: The total project period for an application submitted in response to this funding opportunity may not exceed 5 years. Because the nature and scope of the proposed research will vary from application to application, it is anticipated that the size and duration of each award will also vary.

Although the financial plans of the IC(s) provide support for this program, awards pursuant to this funding opportunity are contingent upon the availability of funds.

Facilities and Administrative (F&A) costs requested by consortium participants are not included in the direct cost limitation, see NOT-OD-05-004.

NIH grants policies as described in the NIH Grants Policy Statement will apply to the applications submitted and awards made in response to this FOA.

The wording Study of Women Across the Nation was incorrect. It should have been the Study of Women’s Health Across the Nation . See corrected wording below.

  • Observational cohorts assembled to address a specific question and followed prospectively over time with periodic assessments and/or biospecimens (e.g., Study of Osteoporotic Fractures, Study of Women’s Health Across the Nation, Multicenter Osteoarthritis Study, Health ABC, etc).
